Before moving to duck farming as duck meat prices were rising, Mr Pamungkas used to be a traditional broiler breeder. As a duck farmer, he experienced many ups and downs due to price fluctuations and dealings with middlemen.

However, he never gave up and soon joined three of his other duck farmer friends to form The Duck King group. They formed this group to ensure better supply control and allowed for supply to bigger buyers with stable prices and favourable payment terms.

“In less than a year, The Duck King group was able to taste success through Crowde’s financing .”

A fellow farmer from Central Java soon referred The Duck King group to Crowde. Although there were doubts at the beginning on how Crowde’s financing could benefit them, they were willing to try. Through a sharia-compliant trading project, the group was able to expand their business production significantly. In addition, they have helped duck egg breeders in their village cut out the middlemen.

The Duck King group couldn’t be happier with Crowde’s financing scheme and have future plans to build their very own slaughterhouse.
