Strengthening Support for Working Families Affected by Disability and Critical Illness
Launched in January 2025, Care4WorkingFamilies (C4W) is a multi-phase, multi-year programme aimed at strengthening support for working families affected by long-term severe disability and other serious health episodes such as critical illness. The programme is composed of research, policy engagement, and pilot initiatives.
In Phase one, Leap201 is working in partnership with KPMG Singapore as its knowledge partner to conduct a research study, develop a position paper on how to better support working families caring for dependents with long-term severe disabilities, review of the CareShield Life scheme, convene cross-sector roundtable discussions to discuss the proposals for the review of the scheme and highlight gaps faced by working families affected by critical illnesses.
A cross-sector roundtable was convened in June 2025, bringing together over 20 senior-level representatives from the public, private, healthcare, and community sectors, as well as academia. The roundtable discussions focused on potential enhancements to CareShield Life and identifying the needs and gaps faced by critical illness survivors.
